The 20th Anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer

20 years ago, fan favorite “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” premiered on The WB network.

CNN said the show aired on March 10, 1997  on the network for the first five seasons and then moved to another network called UPN on the final two seasons.

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar  have posted on Instagram her love and appreciation to the show and the fans.

“20 years ago today, I had the greatest privilege to bring Buffy to your tv screen for the first time,” Gellar wrote.  As an actor, you wish for that one role where you can leave your mark and forever be remembered, with Buffy I got so much more.”

Gellar continues on Instagram  thanking the creator of the show Joss Whedon and her former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-stars.

“Thank you to Joss Whedon, for trusting me to give life to one of the greatest female characters ever created,” she wrote. “Thank you to all the incredible actors for seven seasons of amazing performances.”

The shows other stars like Emma Caulfield and Alyson Hannigan also expressed their gratitude towards the show.
